Prototype 1.7 RC2

I’ve never actually looked at the Prototype JS framework’s blog before and when I did last night I was surprised to see that there is actually 2 release candidates for the 1.7 release of Prototype!

As a fan of Prototype (I haven’t had time to look in to jQuery yet but I plan to in the next few days) the new 1.7 release has a few important improvements such as an improved CSS Selector engine (in fact it’s now the same one as jQuery I believe - Sizzlejs). I’m not sure how safe this RC is to use in production but I’m definitely going to be trying it out on a new site to see how well it performs compared to 1.6.
